Taking into account the necessary renewal of science teaching, we decided to develop a study on the effects of experimentation on students' level of interest in the process of teaching and learning physics in the 9th year of primary school, given the countless difficulties presented by students when faced with this important curricular component in their basic education, which is often seen by students as something extremely complex and distant from their reality. Thus, we sought to highlight the contributions of experimental practice to the teaching of physics, combined with the teacher's other didactic-pedagogical skills, in order to make the study of physics closer to the students' reality and more attractive to their learning.

Josefer Ranchel da Silva Neves has a degree in Natural Sciences from the State University of Amapá and works as a Science Laboratory Technician at the Federal Institute of Amapá. Rosivaldo Carvalho Gama Júnior is a Master's student in Teaching Exact Sciences. Gerlany de Fátima dos Santos Pereira has a PhD and a Master's degree in Science and Maths Education.
