Phyllanthus amarus herb is widely used in tropical countries including India. It has significant traditional uses. Considering the vast potentiality of this plant as sources for antimicrobial drugs, the present study efforts to give an overview of phytochemical analysis and anti-microbial properties of Phyllanthus amarus which can be useful for further study on this plant.

Dr.P.S.S.Sravanthi completed her M.Sc (BOTANY) from AU,Visakhapatnam, M.Tech (Biotechnology) and Ph.D (Plant Biotechnolgy) from Centre for Biotechnology, JNTUH, Kukatpally, Hyderabad. Qualified GATE, CSIR-NET and presently Working as Lecturer in Botany, SVR Government Degree College, Nidadavole, E.G.Dt., Andhra Pradesh.
