This volume brings together the latest research, insights, and innovations presented at GEOIndia 2024, the flagship conference of the Association of Petroleum Geologists (APG) India one of Asia s leading forums for geoscience and energy dialogue. APG India serves as a critical platform for petroleum geologists, fostering international cooperation, scientific discussions, and educational support, all while hosting major events like the GEO India conference series. Edited with the support of the APG Executive Committee and Patron, and published in collaboration with Springer, this book captures contributions from world-class researchers, industry leaders, and emerging voices in the geosciences. This book compiles a wide range of papers that tackle both established and emerging areas within the energy sector, addressing contemporary challenges and pioneering approaches in energy exploration, production, and sustainability. Key topics covered in this book include innovative methodologies in geological and geophysical exploration, energy exploration techniques, advancements in reservoir characterization, and cutting-edge research on unconventional hydrocarbons. Additionally, the proceedings focus on environmental and sustainable practices in energy, underscoring the importance of carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), which are pivotal in the global transition toward cleaner energy systems. Exploring New Dimensions of Energy Dynamics serves as an essential reference for academics, industry practitioners, and policy-makers aiming to understand and contribute to the evolving energy dynamics in South Asia and beyond.

The Editors express their sincere gratitude to the Executive Committee of the Association of Petroleum Geologists (APG) and the Patron of APG for their invaluable support and for granting permission to publish the proceedings of the 6th South Asian Geosciences Conference and Exhibition GEOIndia 2024 with Springer. Their encouragement and vision have been instrumental in bringing this volume to fruition.
