Dr. Charles Intabo Tinega was born and raised in Bonyansiaga, Nyangoso, Bobasi in Kisii County. He went to school at Bonyancha Primary School, St. Peter's Nyamesocho Secondary School, and Riokindo High School. Thereafter, he joined Moi University, where he undertook Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) studies. His M.Phil. and doctoral studies were undertaken at Southern Eastern University. Dr. Tinega has a long teaching experience in history and other related disciplines. He is a member of the associate faculty at Mount Kenya University. In addition, he is a part-time lecturer at Kisii University and the University of Kabianga. His contribution to academia is extensive, having authored several books and journal articles in history and psychology. In addition to teaching and writing, Dr. Tinega is widely consulted in matters of African history and related disciplines through radio and television programmes.
