Autorenporträt
After having served for six years in the Corps of Royal Engineers, then, for 34 years as County Borough Councillor in his hometown, Bobby Drew took some of his life experience and threw it into this first book, Fair Wind To Freedom. He was able to write about some areas of the United States because he has travelled extensively through the western United States. That's how he developed such a great love for the country and its complex history. Family-wise, while Drew has suffered some loss in his family, he does have a stepdaughter, whom he loves and cares for as though she were his own. Hailing from Wales, as the book's main character, Owen, does, Bobby lives near that character's hometown and enjoys walks with his dog named Duke. When he's not writing, researching or out walking with his dog Duke, you would find him reading or off travelling somewhere, on a grand adventure of his own.
