This book analyses fairy tales according to their origins, style and characteristics. The clarification and definition of basic ethical concepts and the elaboration of the significance of fairy tales for child development serve as a basis for discussion. Particular attention is paid to the topics of moral development, resilience promotion and fear management. The didactic suggestions from fairy tale analyses, portfolios, role-plays, games, philosophising with fairy tales and various project work are examined for their suitability in terms of values education. It becomes apparent that, taking into account the age of the pupils, there is a range of materials available that are well suited for working on ethical topics in a joyful way in lessons using fairy tales.
