During my teaching journey, I learned sign language to communicate with a student-and I completely fell in love with it! That experience inspired me to collaborate with a Deaf consultant and make picture books that teach sign language. As one of my first graders once said, "Everyone should learn sign language because it stretches your brain, and you can make new friends." I couldn't agree more. My hope is to help build bridges through inclusive and engaging stories. My "Drama Kitty" series is based on the true (and very dramatic) antics of a real-life cat-guaranteed to bring giggles and, of course, lots of drama! My "Sign With Me" series and "Sign With Friends" series are both close to my heart. They introduce sign language in fun, interactive ways that are kid friendly and make signs easy to learn! All my books are inspired by the people who have truly changed my life. If you have a dream to write, teach, or create... you can. And I hope you do. Let's build bridges with inclusive books.Happy reading!
