Yero Massamba is an Afro-Brazilian born in the city of Berkeley and raised in East Oakland, California. Yero is a musician, community leader, writer, and MC. His main purpose in life is to focus on uplifting his community through arts, music, dance movement, healthy eating, Yoga, martial arts, and social and economic justice. He is truly a fighter against systemic oppression here in the United States of America and world-wide. His beautiful children's books are meant to give young Black and Brown children a chance to view themselves in a lens outside of what is perpetrated and acculturated through colonialism.
