Erin P.T. Canning has worked for twenty years as an editor, encouraging other writers' individual voices and teaching them how to hone their writing skills. She always planned to write a book. While she focused on her family, she stopped writing for six years. But something deep inside was missing. Depression, anxiety, and anger forced her to search for herself, both for her sake and her family's. Despite fearing her skills had atrophied, Erin started writing again. For as long as she can remember, her imagination has been her safe place-a never-ending adventure where she can travel to far-off lands, find people who believe in her potential, and be the hero. By giving herself permission to be imperfect, she finished writing her own shitty first draft in 2022. Ruins and Redemption celebrates Erin making her own dreams come true. Now, she spends her days helping writers become the authors they're meant to be and her evenings writing a blend of fantasy, adventure, and romance as her characters explore other cultures, forge unlikely friendships, and discover their hidden strengths as they fight for what's right and what they desire most. She earned her BA in Literature from The American University and MA in Writing from Johns Hopkins University, and she lives with her husband and their two boys in Maryland.
