Carl L. Washington, Jr. is the beloved Pastor of the New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Harlem, New York. For the last 30 years, he has led the congregation to be a beacon for Christ in the Harlem community, the state of New York, and across this nation. Under Dr. Washington's charismatic leadership, The New Mount Zion Baptist Church has grown extensively numerically, financially, and most importantly, spiritually. Academics also hallmark Rev. Dr. Carl L. Washington's accomplishments. He is a magna cum laude graduate of LaSalle University, and a graduate of Hartford Theological Seminary. He received a Doctor of Humane Letters from the University of Virginia at Lynchburg and a Doctor of Ministry from Eastern Theological Seminary. His greatest success and satisfaction have come by proudly being the husband of his wife Bernita, whom he affectionately calls, "Nita," and the father of their six children, daughters Kristen, Carla, Chandle, and Caura, along with his sons Carl III and Carson. In addition, he has three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, 19 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
