"LeeAnne James's latest kidnapping thriller is a tragic exploration of evil borne of ignorance." -Cam Torrens, award-winning author of the Tyler Zahn series When Sergeant Steve "Mac" MacIntosh interviews a young victim of kidnap and rape, he's appalled. She came forward to say she'd been kidnapped by an older man wearing glasses. He held her captive in a damp and dark underground bunker for over a year and raped her daily. Even more disturbing, he appeared to think he was treating her well! Mac vows to get her justice, but finding an underground bunker with not much else to go on is almost impossible, and eight years pass without a breakthrough. Even when two more victims show up with identical stories, discovering the whereabouts of the twisted psycho still remains out of reach and leaves Mac haunted. If only he could identify the guy and stop him from kidnapping more women. Unfortunately, more victims already exist, and things will get worse. But will they also eventually get better? And is it possible for justice to win out? Inspired by true events, Five Roses for Walter answers questions we hate to even ask.
