Autorenporträt
With twenty-five years as a freelance writer, Romi Herron is published internationally in traditional media. As an old-school reporter, Romi covered topics including education, religion, sports, healthcare, crime, entertainment and human interest. Publications include Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Spanish Journal Newspapers, China Daily Newspaper, Wall Street Journal Online, Liberty Suburban Chicago Newspapers, ADVANCE for Nurses Newsmagazines, as well as medical conference coverage on Research Gate. Back in the day, Romi was blessed to have actual conversations and one-on-one interviews, garnering memorable quotes and threading them together so the subject navigated the story. With the advent of instant keyboarding and online influencing, Romi is choosing children's stories over new media. Now in her fifties, and as a lifelong learner, Romi earned a Master's degree in Teaching, and is credentialed as a Developmental Therapist for Early Intervention with the State of Illinois. Opening these doors enabled Romi to see up close what today's children experience. Romi's stories are often based on her own idyllic childhood memories. She is inspired every day by the children and families who bravely bring their love, hope and dreams to new places. Romi holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Human Development, as well as two Master's degrees. She is most proud of her son, Kenny, a high school English teacher. Romi lives with her husband Dave, and their beloved companion animals - surrounded by beautiful woods and lush gardens in Saint Charles, Illinois. Her favorite place to be is home, followed by The Cotswolds of England.
