Her birthday was in April, so I picked daffodils for her. She wore a white flower to church on Mother's Day and I wore a red one. When she got Alzheimer's she wanted me to come home and stay with her. I had ordered flowers for her and gave them to her to announce that I was home to stay. She was overjoyed and cried, but she didn't know me the next day. I planted flowers everywhere to encourage her to walk outside with me. When she passed away it was April, just after her 80th birthday, and I took daffodils when I visited her grave. Now I raise a purple flower high in her memory in the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's.
