Considering that education enables individuals to act with awareness, and that the school environment and consequently the teacher can mediate this appropriate knowledge, Food and Nutrition Education is a subject that despite being included in the Transversal Theme Health of the National Curriculum Parameters, there is no effective focus, with a cold transmission of knowledge, where the contents are often based on a theoretical diet and the teacher almost always has no specific knowledge on the subject. In this sense, the pedagogical practices used by teachers must be appropriate to the point of making students' learning a reality. Therefore, the research has contributed directly to the education of primary school students, because by analysing these practices it has been possible to verify the effectiveness of the students' learning and the teachers will be able to reflect on their ways of working in the classroom.
