The far north of Cameroon is an ecologically fragile area, spared neither by the effects of drought and desertification, nor by deforestation, bush fires and the degradation of forest reserves. The author analyzes the social, economic and environmental stakes of forest reserves, with a rapidly growing and unevenly distributed population. He provides answers and explanations to this worrying and vulnerable situation, while opening up prospects for action to safeguard biodiversity with a view to sustainable development.
