The present book is a modest attempt to study "Freedom movement in Krishna district 1920-47. Regional history like national history has gained importance in recent time. The detailed study of the history at regional level without losing sight of the impact of national events at work would to a large extent help in harnessing the real motivating forces and the resulting factors, besides helping in sorting out and putting the past in the right perspective. Hence, study of history at a micro level, which will help in tapping the sources which hither to have been over looked, will greatly help in achieving this objective keeping this in view, the history of freedom movement in Krishna district has been chosen as the topic of study for my research work. As most of the development freedom struggle took place during 1920-47, this period has been selected for present study.
