Abdaljawad Omar is a lecturer, writer, and analyst residing in Ramallah, Palestine. Over the past year, he has built up a profile as one of the sharpest analysts writing on Israel’s war on Gaza from a left perspective. Omar currently works as a lecturer in the Philosophy and Cultural Studies Department at Birzeit University. From 2012 to 2015, he was also policy advisor to Saeb Erekat (before becoming disillusioned) and has been actively engaged in Palestinian leftist and activist circles for over a decade. In addition to his scholarly work, he is known for his essays and prose, and his radio and media appearances – Aljazeera, NYT, Anadlou, various radio stations. He is a frequent contributor to a variety of regional and international publications. Omar's extensive writings delve into the contemporary Palestinian historical milieu, and his academic credentials include an MA from Johns Hopkins SAIS, a Graduate Diploma in War Studies from King’s College, and a BA from Utrecht University.
