DJ Watt was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia and has lived in many towns in Nova Scotia, and beyond, including a ten-year period in Dartmouth, during his school years. An avid reader, Doug always enjoys historical fiction with occasional side trips into the dystopian world. He attended Dalhousie on scholarships but became disillusioned and left the university after two years. Taking the next year off to save money, he worked at various jobs including warehouseman and mixer operator at Ben's Bakery. DJ then obtained a Drafting Diploma and began a 42-year career, working on major engineering projects in the United States and Canada. During this time, he found the love of his life at a New Years eve party in St. John's, Newfoundland. He retired in 2022.
