What can we do when life feels hopeless? Where do we turn when things fall apart? Connie grew up on a farm on the Ridge Road in the middle of nowhere, somewhere outside Salem, Indiana. She was outgoing, talkative, and loved to have fun, something that often put her at odds with her strict, hard-working father. She was often lonely, and sometimes, when it felt like she might live there in isolation forever, she'd retreat to the pig barn, singing and dancing her little heart out. Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning. Give me oil in my lamp, I pray. Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning. Keep me burning to the break of day. She didn't realize it at the time, but God was using her childhood experiences to shape the woman she would become and to give her the strength she needed to face the challenges ahead . . . experiencing heartbreak, nearly going bankrupt, and setting out to start a creative arts academy called Cavod that sought to glorify God through dance, acting, and music. This is the story of a little girl who found wholeness in the love of God and grew up to find her purpose through trusting Him.
