This book is for artists who make art because they have to-who know in their bones that their creativity is not a hobby, it's a heartbeat. Whether you're just starting to take your work seriously or clawing your way back from a long, soul-draining break, From Canvas to Career is a roadmap for turning your creative calling into a sustainable, self-driven practice. Written by an artist who's been through the ringer-burnout, self-doubt, financial stress, and total reinvention-this book is packed with real talk, practical advice, and field-tested strategies for navigating the art world from the ground up. No gatekeeping, no fluff, and no false promises. Just everything the author had to learn the hard way-how to build visibility, create diverse revenue streams, connect with collectors, show up at the right opportunities, and do it all without selling your soul or shrinking your voice. You won't find lofty theories here. You'll find actual tips, business models, licensing basics, gallery strategies, and a healthy dose of pep talks for those late nights when you're wondering why you ever chose this path. You'll learn how to advocate for yourself, price your work with confidence, and start building the kind of career that honors your vision-and pays your bills. This isn't about becoming famous. It's about becoming resilient. Resourceful. Self-sustaining. It's about reclaiming your art, on your own terms, and learning how to move through the world like the professional you already are.
