From the Burning Shore is a memoir in verse - 32 original poems - inspired by the author's 30 years of gang intervention and youth mentoring work within and around Los Angeles' juvenile justice system. In these fiery times, it reads as a poetic prayer for healing and transformation in the face of fear and injustice.
