Merhaba. My name is Kelebek "Kelly" Gursel. I was born in Mersin, Turkey, and left the country with my parents in the 1990s. We came to Canada as political refugees. Fast forward a couple of decades and we're doing fine. My folks run a restaurant in Toronto. I graduated from Carleton University and work for the CRA in Ottawa. The only snag ? My passive-aggressive, covertly racist co-workers. Since I look white, they never seem to guess that I'm a Muslim. All except my boss, Joanna Baccelli. I met this tall, handsome Somali repairman named Abdirizak Hussein at work and we're involved. Got to keep our relationship a secret because Joanna and her racist flunkies are gunning for me. I really care for Abdirizak, who studies Criminology at the University of Ottawa. We're going to fight the haters. Wish us luck.
