My early years in the 50s was a bad time for me, being sent to a school for bad boys in Glasgow for 18 months. Among the street wise Glasgow boys, I had a lot to learn about life. I never got much love from my father, but mother made up for that. There were ten in the family, six boys and four girls. We were very close. Joined the army in 1960 and I loved it for 13 years 321 days with medical discharge for hearing loss. Managed a pub for four years, was a continental coach driver. John married in 1963 and spent much of his life as a dedicated soldier, serving in numerous countries throughout his career. In everything he has done, his commitment and determination have always shone through. Now, in 2024, we are still happily married. At 81, John is retired but remains as active as ever. He still does all the D.I.Y and repairs and spends a lot of time doing bird boxes. He is excited about the book. Jan xx
