Award-winning author, Denis O'Leary, an educator for three decades, has served in civil rights organizations, and as a school Trustee for seventeen years. He has composed fascinating books reflecting respect for diverse Latin American cultures such as Alba Walking in the Shadows, Esteban's Caravan and children's books honoring Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, and Gabriela Mistral. He has taken his often-bilingual book subjects of Popol Vuh, DREAMERs, his respect for fieldworkers to young and old. Denis O'Leary says that he chooses his subjects because they are missing or forbidden in our schools.
