Born 15 Sept., 1947, passed B.Sc.(Hons) (1965),M.Sc.(1967)in Physics,obtained Ph.D.(Tech.)(1981).Served A.B.N.Seal College,Coochbehar,Hooghly Mohsin College, Krishnagar College and Presidency College,Kolkata.Retired in Sept. 2007.Author of two text books,more than 200 articles on popular science,two books on popular science.Is a science activist.
