Autorenporträt

Dick (Dirk Izaäk) Blonk studied medicine in Utrecht and Rotterdam. After his retirement, he followed a course on historic cartography by professor Günter Schilder, dr. Peter van der Krogt and dr. Paul van den Brink. Together with his wife, he was the author of Hollandia Comitatus: Een kartobibliografie van Holland (2000) and Zeelandia Comitatus: Geschiedenis en cartobibliografie van de provincie Zeeland tot 1860 (2010). Peter van der Krogt wrote a thesis on the production of terrestrial and celestial globes in the Netherlands and is the author of the series Koeman's Atlantes Neerlandici, a bibliography of atlases published in the Netherlands. He is the Jansonius curator and head of the Explokart research program at the Special Collections at the University of Amsterdam.
