The study reviewed that girls performed better than boys . Also revealed was that both boys and girls are highly motivated to study the subject and that English Language is the most preferred for the female respondents.The researcher recommended that the English teacher should be made aware of the gender differences in performance so that he/she be sensitive to it.

Studied for a M.Ed in Educational Psychology with Great Zimbabwe University and B.Ed with Zimbabwe Open University. He trained as a teacher at Hillside Teacher's College. He taught English language and Literature in Zimbabwe for a number of years. He is currently involved in Special Needs Education at Hope School for Special Needs in Kuwait.
