Laura J. Shepherd is Lecturer in International Relations and International Law in the Department of Political Science and International Studies, University of Birmingham. Laura J. Shepherd is Lecturer in International Relations and International Law in the Department of Political Science and International Studies, University of Birmingham. She received her PhD from the University of Bristol in 2007. Laura has published on gender/ed violence and security in Millennium: Journal of International Studies (2005) and British Journal of Politics and International Relations (2007). She has a keen interest in US foreign and security policy and has published an article entitled 'Veiled References: Discourses of Gender in the Bush Administration Discourse on the Attacks on Afghanistan Post-9/11' in International Feminist Journal of Politics (2006).
