In addition, molecular techniques e.g. Multiplex-PCR, RT-PCR, SSCP and RFLP were used for fast, sensitive detection of some viral genes such as coat protein (CP), movement protein (MP) and Replication (Rep) and identify the genotypes for potato leaf roll virus isolates. Moreover, studying the potato leaf roll virus effect on the potato cell structure such as: size and number of starch, mitochondria, ribosomes, viral like particles were observed with PLRV- infected potato leaves.
