Margaret Hird has spent her life surrounded by animals. From riding horses before she could walk to raising racehorses and spending summers on a Saskatchewan farm, her deep connection with animals has shaped both her life and her storytelling. She has experienced the joy of their companionship and the heartache of their loss-experiences that inspired Gilroy's Story. Margaret offers this, her debut children's book, as a gentle, heartfelt way to help others-especially children-navigate the grief of losing a pet.
