Join Gnu Gnu the wildebeest and Punda the zebra on an unforgettable journey across the African savanna! When the dry season arrives and water becomes scarce, these two very different animals must travel from Tanzania to Kenya to find the life-giving water they and their families desperately need. At first, Gnu Gnu and Punda seem an unlikely pair. Gnu Gnu is strong and sturdy, while Punda is fast and has keen eyesight. But as they face the challenges of their long journey together, they discover that their differences make them the perfect team. Along the way, they meet a delightful cast of animal friends - from helpful giraffes to wise elephants. During their trip, they learn that working together makes them both stronger and braver than they could ever be alone. This beautifully illustrated tale celebrates friendship, teamwork, and the wonderful ways our differences can complement each other.
Autorenporträt
Liisa Andreassen has spent more than 30 years crafting stories as a professional writer and editor, but this is her first adventure into the magical world of children's books. The inspiration for this story came during a family trip to Tanzania, where she marveled at how animals worked together to find water-a lesson in teamwork and harmony she knew would captivate young readers and grown-ups alike.Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Liisa now calls the scenic mountains of Asheville, NC home, where she lives with her husband, John. One day, she dreams of creating a series called Kids' Continents, celebrating the unique animals and their cooperative spirits from every corner of the globe.
