Gentil Saraiva Jr éeacute; professor de inglês e português, tradutor, poeta, escritor, editor e revisor. Tem graduação (Licenciatura Plena em Letras) e mestrado e doutorado em tradução poética pelo Programa de Póoacute;s-graduação do Instituto de Letras da UFRGS. Escreveu três livros de poemas: Semente de Estrelas, Canto do Amor Em Si e Sementes Esparsas. Seu foco principal em tradução por trinta anos foi Folhas de Relva, a obra poética de Walt Whitman, que estáaacute; publicada por inteiro no KDP, a plataforma da Amazon para autores independentes. Também é autor da Gramática Bilíiacute;ngue Inglês-Português, da Gramática do Português Atual e de Versificação em Português, entre outras obras. Além de Folhas de Relva, publicou a tradução de Múuacute;sica de Câmara, de Jame Joyce, do Rubaiyat de Omar Khayyam e de Rei Lear e Hamlet, de Shakespeare, entre outras. *** Gentil Saraiva Jr is an English and Portuguese teacher, translator, poet, writer, editor and proofreader. He has a bachelor's degree in Languages and a master's and doctorate in poetic translation from the Postgraduate Program of the Institute of Languages of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. He has written three books of poems: Semente de Estrelas (Seed of Stars), Canto do Amor Em Si (Song of Love), and Sementes Esparsas (Sparse Seeds). His main focus in translation for thirty years was Leaves of Grass, the poetic works of Walt Whitman: his full translation of LG was published in 2017 on KDP, Amazon's platform for independent authors. He is also the author of English-Portuguese Bilingual Grammar, Grammar of Current Portuguese, and Versification in Portuguese, among other works. In addition to Leaves of Grass, he has published translations of Chamber Music, by Jame Joyce, the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, and King Lear and Hamlet by Shakespeare, among other publications.
