Autorenporträt
Helmut Holzhey ist Ordinarius für Geschichte der Philosophie am Philosophischen Institut der Universität Zürich.

Der Philosoph Friedrich Ueberweg (1826 -1871) stand vor allem in der aristotelischen Tradition und lehnte den Kantianismus ab - seine zahlreichen Schriften zählen noch heute zu den Standardwerken in philosophischen Fachkreisen. Nach Studium und Habilitation lehrte Ueberweg zunächst als Privatdozent an der Universität Bonn, ehe er 1862 als außerordentlicher Professor nach Königsberg berufen wurde. Sechs Jahre später wurde er zum ordentlichen Professor ernannt.
