Produktbeschreibung
This book is the result of my master's research in the Postgraduate Program in Literature at the Federal University of Espírito Santo. In it, the reader will find a study and analysis that focuses on the works O Guarani, by José de Alencar and Il Guarany, by Carlos Gomes, the former being an important work of Brazilian literature and the latter an opera in which the composer translated words into a musical performance. The emergence of the works, their relationship with the historical context in which they were produced, as well as points related to the nationalist movement of Romanticism, are discussed. The book deals with the intersemiotic translation of the book into opera, the dialogue between Literature and Music, and the transformations resulting from the adaptations of Alencar's work into Carlos Gomes' opera.
