H goes to México is a "coming of letter" story about the letter H finding out how and when the letter is used in the Spanish Language. H goes to México is a "coming of letter" story about the letter H finding out how and when the letter is used in the Spanish Language. In a fact-based, hopeful, rhyming tale, H is a character that learns as the readers do about how important it is to separate yourself from others holding you back to discover where you truly belong. H begins the story with his introduction to the team of letters that currently rule together, hence the main letters used and enunciated in the Spanish language. They tell H that because of his silent pronunciation in Spanish, he could never be as popular as them. As he first journeys with hope, he begins to see how when common words like "hola" or "hombres" are spoken the H is not pronounced. As he gives up, he hears his name and soon finds that the words beginning with the letter J or CH can be pronounced with an H. He sees where he belongs, only in a different place than he expected.
R.G. Ripullo is a writer from Orange County, California, and a film student at New York University. Just like H, she has learned a thing or two about fitting in. An active daydreamer, at age 13, she dreamt up a way to publish her first article, to start college the same year, and to write this book. She grew up in a bi-lingual home and believes in the power of storytelling through various mediums and is working on her next book.
