Development Economics applies modern techniques of macroeconomic and microeconomic analysis to the study of the economic, social, environmental and institutional problems facing developing countries. It focuses on the determinants of poverty and underdevelopment, as well as on the policies that need to be implemented in order to improve the development of developing countries.
