Healing Growing Hearts is a practical, story-driven resource for those working closely with children and youth affected by trauma, violence, and systemic injustice. Designed for social workers, educators, mental health professionals, medical staff, support workers, and community advocates, this book offers culturally rooted, multidisciplinary healing strategies drawn from Western, Afrocentric, and Indigenous approaches. Each chapter focuses on a specific area of trauma - from sexual abuse and grief to alcohol codependency, foster care, disability, and displacement - using real-life case studies and engaging narratives to ground theory in practice. It explores how culture, religion, policy, and society shape the healing process, and provides concrete tools that can be used in everyday care settings. While created with professionals in mind, Healing Growing Hearts is also an empowering read for survivors, caregivers, and anyone seeking deeper understanding of the emotional worlds of young people. It's a call to action - and a practical guide - for those committed to building safe, supportive, and healing spaces for youth.
