Achim Lichtenberger is Professor of Classical Archaeology at the University of Münster and Director of the university's Archaeological Museum, specializing in the archaeology of the Hellenistic and Roman Near East. He has been codirector of the German-Israeli Tell Iẓṭabba Excavation Project since 2019 and has codirected archaeological excavations in Jordan (Gerasa, 2011-2017) and Armenia (Artaxata, since 2018).
