A lonely man attracts a serial killer after listing himself in the phone book as G.O.D. After rejecting the manuscript for The Da Vinci Code, the powers that be at the publishing house Geoffrey Oliver Davis works for punishes him for his mistake, demoting him to office mail boy. It gets worse. The girl he likes can't stand the sight of him, and the rest of Geoffrey's coworkers tease and bully him relentlessly. His only friend is Livia, the most successful editor in the office, a widow and single mom who has shown him nothing but kindness. Life at home is lonely. The phone barely rings, with the exception of incessant telemarketing calls, sometimes in the middle of the night. Geoff decides to take action, calling the phone company to get his telephone number unlisted. He learns there is a fee, which he tries to get around by listing himself in the phone book using his initials, which happens to spell out G.O.D. Fast forward a few weeks later when Geoff begins to receive mysterious calls in the middle of the night from a serial killer, who wants him to listen in on his latest murder, or else....
