Susie is an author, public speaker, and expert patient, as she's been inadvertently collecting diseases since age nine. It started with a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, and since then she has lived with pain disorders, gastroparesis, retinopathy, and even had brain surgery. Her goal is to use her years of illness and thousands of appointments to help others bridge the gap between them and their healthcare professionals, which will result in excellent care. Susie has a regular column in six Canadian newspapers and in DWC Magazine called 'Expert Patient Here to Help!' Her personal essay, 'Pet Therapy' was published on New York Times bestselling author Esmé Wang's Substack, 'Reasons for Living.'Susie is a Canadian now living in England with her husband, Don, and Chihuahua, Carlos.
