In High Moose Alert, poet and humorist Rick Lupert brings his signature blend of sharp wit and wide-eyed wonder to the wilds of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. From Vancouver's gourmet donuts and steam clocks to Alaska's glaciers, cruise ship quirks, and the elusive moose of the Yukon, Lupert captures every delicious detail with warmth, absurdity, and poetic precision. Whether navigating the donut-laced sidewalks of Granville Island or the swaying decks of a cruise ship, Lupert's journey is equal parts travelogue and introspective comedy, filtered through the tender lens of a husband, father, and curious wanderer. High Moose Alert is a poetic road trip for the culturally curious, the cruise-obsessed, and anyone who's ever questioned why there's a floating Chevron in the middle of the water-or if the salmon you're eating might have once been someone you knew. Bon voyage.
