Produktbeschreibung
Psychologists, clinicians, educators, parents, and researchers have described tendencies, behaviors, and developmental patterns in gifted individuals that are different from their chronological aged peers. In the highly-profoundly gifted, these differences are distinctly different and are often marked by holistic greater-than-typical sensitivities, intensities, and awareness. This book aims to explore the lives of highly and profoundly gifted individuals across time and cultures, offering an authentic portrayal of giftedness and what it truly means to be highly-profoundly gifted. We sought out experts who approach the topic with a holistic perspective, free from cultural bias. We hear from parents who share their children's and their family's lived experiences. Together, we explore the perceptions of giftedness and human experiences across cultures and across time. Through our travels, across the globe, we challenge you to not only seek the differences, but to also recognize the similarities, and the urgency. The development, developmental potential, and most importantly, the well-being of our highly-profoundly gifted children, adolescents, young adults, and future contributors are at stake.
