Seville awakens in shock. With the countdown to Holy Week in full swing, the image of the Esperanza Macarena has disappeared from its basilica without a trace. Next to the Virgin, the chaplain has been brutally murdered. Who could dare to strike such a blow to the heart of the city? Inspector Lorenzo Millán, a Sevillian through and through and an expert in art and history, faces the most difficult case of his career. In a city where tradition and faith are unshakeable pillars, finding the Macarena before chaos breaks out is a race against time. But what seemed like a sacred theft turns into a dark plot where beliefs, fanaticism, and a secret brotherhood intertwine in a dangerous game. As the streets of Seville boil with processions and rumors, a series of inexplicable events shake the city: stampedes in the middle of the vigil, disappearances, and an enigma that points to a group calling themselves Los Hijos del Justo (The Sons of the Just). What are they really looking for? Who is pulling the strings? And why does history seem to be repeating itself from dark times? From the Basilica of La Macarena to the most unexpected corners of the city, this story is a vibrant thriller that mixes religion, mystery, and history in a plot that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very last page.
