The aim of this work was to identify the most important players, topics and terms based on press reports on the Haemmerli affair and to examine the role of the press. To this end, we analysed a collection of newspaper articles on the Haemmerli affair published in the German-speaking part of Switzerland between 16 January 1975 and 25 July 1976, which forms part of the estate of Urs Peter Haemmerli and is held in the archives of the Chair of Medical History in Zurich.
