Hold My Hand is a collection of short stories for children aged 9 to 14 years. These stories are an attempt to softly venture into the emotional worlds of children and of the adults who guide them. Each story tries to delve deep into the conviction and understanding required by every child and the unsaid words that shape his sense of safety and self-worth.Be the anchor that allows a child to trust, speak, and grow with confidence. Let's not treat the stories as mere fiction. We need to revisit them, discuss them with children, and do the suggested follow-up activities with different groups of children. This will allow each lesson to settle in more deeply. We may be a parent, a grandparent, an elder sibling, a teacher, or a caregiver; our approach can shape that child's understanding of the world in lasting ways. Creating safe spaces for children is not a one-time task, but a shared, enduring commitment. My hope is that these pages serve not just as a source of insight, but as an invitation - to keep the dialogue flowing, to listen with intention, and to walk alongside every child as they build their sense of safety.
Jaspreet Kaur has always believed that stories play a very important role in all the stages of our lives. They ignite conversations that shape who we become. An educator, trainer, and storyteller, she has spent over two decades creating spaces where children, parents, and communities can speak, listen, and grow together.Through her stories, Jaspreet hopes to build a bridge of communication between the adults and children that would connect the dots and build trust, awareness, and courage both in homes and classrooms. Her journey spans classrooms, training halls, and boardrooms - as a senior English faculty, communication coach, Toastmaster, and trainer in POSH, PoCSO, and behavioural skills. She has conducted impactful sessions for schools, colleges, government organisations, corporates, and NGOs, blending sensitivity with clarity to turn complex, often-avoided topics into meaningful dialogues that empower both children and adults. She has also collaborated with Prans Features - the legendary creators of Chacha Choudhary - bringing contemporary stories and translations to new generations of young readers.
