My goal and my heart for this book was to hand-pick select chapters from each of my 3 previously published books, and edit/recreate, and craft them into one book, just for men in prison, and my next edition will be just for women. I believe with my whole heart that my message of hope and healing is most needed beyond the ultimate bolted door - the one with bars.

My name is Corine Channell. I am a widowed mother of 6, grandmother of 12, and great-grandmother of 2. I am a self-published author, a blogger, and a freelance writer. I currently reside in Sandyville, WV. Most of my specific knowledge, credentials, and writing experience is from my own real-life experience. I have a BA in Creative Writing and Psychology. I have worked in suicide prevention, counseling, teaching, and youth work. For the past 6 years, I blogged for an international website called GODTV, and I was the co-producer of a documentary on suicide prevention called SHATTERED SILENCE, which is also broadcast internationally through GODTV. I am a survivor of teenage sexual abuse, and I just published a 3-book series, chronicling my story and subsequent healing journey, called BEYOND THE BOLTED DOOR. My message is that EVERY story matters, even the messy ones that leave scars. God can turn pain into purpose!
