At first glance, you'd think Jesse Troupe is a young man with the world in his hands... a pilot, unattached, a free spirit in a career where not even the sky is the limit. At first glance, you'd think Jesse Troupe is a young man with the world in his hands... a pilot, unattached, a free spirit in a career where not even the sky is the limit. But if you could truly know him, you'd never want anything close to his life. Neither does he. It would seem death has stalked him, taking so many of those he's held dear. The only reaction he can muster is a frigid shoulder to anyone near him. Caroline Kaden might have foolishly tried to give him advice on moving on (she is a mental health therapist after all) if she wasn't distracted by all the fresh airplane wreckage when they first meet. A driven thirty-something tomboy, Caroline has come to find herself disillusioned in her many life achievements. She wishes for only two things: to learn the feminine graces she's always shunned, and to discover what it is to love. Secretly tortured by memories of a fiancée too recently passed, Jesse had no idea that he had well learned so many expressions of romance. And now, despite being almost ten years his senior, Caroline only wants him to teach her the softer side of womanhood. As her persistent spirit of adventure pulls Jesse into eye-opening worlds he's never known, it's Caroline's compassionate innocence that drives him, her reluctant teacher, to face both his future and his past.
