"Housing Redux presents the design projects created by students of Edward P. Bass Distinguished Visiting Architecture Fellowship in a studio at the Yale School of Architecture. This edition was led by Nnenna Lynch, Bass Fellow and founder of Xlyem Projects; James von Klemperer and Hana Kassem, principals at Kohn Pedersen Fox; and Andrei Harwell, senior critic in architecture at Yale. The students investigated the New York City Housing Authority typology, specifically Washington Houses, in East Harlem, with the intent of proposing new architectural solutions "addressing the city's affordable-housing shortage while tackling questions of urban fabric and context, public and private space, and mixed-use development as a tool for connectivity." The ultimate aim of the projects was the rethink the affordable-housing formula while addressing equity challenges"--
