Yasir Hageltom possède une vaste expérience couvrant différents aspects des ressources en eau et de l'ingénierie hydraulique. Il est titulaire d'un master en sciences et ingénierie de l'eau de l'UNESCO-IHE (Pays-Bas). Il travaille actuellement comme chercheur au Centre de recherche hydraulique de Wad Medani, au Soudan.
