The book "I Am Nuwaubian" explores the philosophical and cultural identity of the Nuwaubian community, emphasizing the concept of Nuwaubu, which is described as the "Science of Sound Right Reasoning." This philosophy stresses the importance of acquiring "Right Knowledge," "Right Wisdom," and "Right Overstanding" to navigate life and attain a higher state of awareness and ethical living¿¿¿¿. The text delves into the historical and cultural roots of Nuwaubu, drawing connections to ancient African civilizations and critiquing the misappropriation of African knowledge by Western societies. It also addresses the evolution of language and concepts within Nuwaubian thought, particularly the use of the term "overstand" to denote a deeper level of comprehension beyond mere understanding. The book contrasts Nuwaubian philosophy with Greek concepts of virtue and wisdom, highlighting the differences in cultural perspectives on knowledge and ethical behavior¿¿¿¿. The work further explores the psychological and cognitive aspects of wisdom, arguing for a comprehensive approach that includes ethical and moral considerations in decision-making. It advocates for the integration of these principles into educational systems to foster critical thinking and wise decision-making in the face of modern challenges¿¿. Overall, "I Am Nuwaubian" is a call for a re-engagement with ancient wisdom and a reassertion of a distinct cultural and philosophical identity.
